NASAL DROPS FOR BRAIN CANCER ?

scientists have reported that drug in the form of nose drops (methotrexate) can treat brain cancer.Conventional anti cancer drugs (injections and tablets) have difficulty in reaching the brain because of blood brain barrier.
        
 Blood brain barrier is a protective layer of cells surrounding the brain, which prevents medication in the blood from entering the brain.New evidence indicates that some drugs administered thorough the nose,either as nose drops or nasal spray,can bypass this barrier and travel directly into the brain.This new system helps in treating brain tumours and also for other central nervous system disorders.
